Curlew

I take my art to events in the UK each year. If I have to stay for a while then I like to be as close to the wildness of the landscape as possible.

I stayed on a farm near Ilkely and fell asleep to the sound of curlews calling. When I woke the next morning I heard them again.

Travelling to the exhibition I kept seeing curlews. It was impossible not to stop and watch them, picking their careful way through the managed wildness of the Yorkshire moors.
